Last Update of the year

As president of Kasama Club, and as your friend, please make it to our first practice of MultiCultural.

Personally, our club needs more participants for this event to make the club’s year worth it. And personally it will make me happy to see that you guys are able to show your filipino culture. Don’t get me wrong but doing this dance is a part of who you are and where you come from, if you don’t believe me that’s fine.

If you are having trouble making it to these practices due to Basketball, Track Club, Wrestling or any other sport or family issues such as taking care of someone at home or parents not allowing you stay out we have lunch practices and 7th period practices.

I’ve been told that facebook, texting and what not is not an effecient way of contacting people, but I will continue to do this until I see a growth in this club’s participation for these dances. My officers will also go by word of mouth announcing or telling you all during school hours.

Practices will be Tuesday and Thursdays for all dances:
Bangko (Bench dance; dancing on a 2 foot bench; boy and girl)

Escrima (Mock stick fighting dance; all boys; a routine will be given by a teacher that our club adviser has provided for us)

Pandanggo sa Ilaw (Candle dance; all girls; a candle in a glass is set upon the top of your head and you will be holding a candle in your right and left hand)

Practices will be EVERY TUESDAYS AND THURSDAYS
Lunch and after school

Practice starts January 11, 2011
MultiCultural is in the middle of MARCH 2011

Don’t forget to attend the meeting on January 10, 2011 in room 808 so that you will be provided with more information about Multi including PCN auditions for characters in our skit, performances, and national anthems.

I would like to see a lot of people there since I only see about 10 people who attend. The most members I’ve seen was the day we passed out shirts which was about 40 people in that room. I’d like to see that many on January 10 in our first meeting of the year. What is a club without club members? Invite your friends! Those who are related to you! And I promise, this club will be stable and fun!!

And even if you haven’t participated in any dances or even joined the club before, you are most welcome to participate!

You must Know that you can be an Active member So that A lot of people May Acknowledge us for our hard work! (KASAMA! Lol.)

^^You guys should know how I felt trying to make my way to become president of this club. It takes a lot than just dances and Battle of the Tribes(=

NOTE TO EVERYONE PLANNING TO PARTICIPATE IN BATTLE OF THE TRIBES 2011:

You are not allowed to PARTICIPATE in games or Skits w/dance if you’ve never danced for any of our school activities/outside performances. You must perform for at least 2 performances. Meaning, Heritage week, Multicultural day/night, or outside performance: we have 2 in November: Paolo Alto in late november and Evergreen Elementary on Nov 5th. Spread the word, because we know who participates and we know who just GOES to battle without making an effort to support and attend Kasama Club.
An exception to be part of Battle of the Tribes: You may watch and support us, just not participate.
